While in Florida, the band will go to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, MGM Studios, Downtown Disney, Ron Jon’s Surf Shop, Cocoa Beach, and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. Smith Walbridge Clinics '10
We will leave the GCHS parking lot by charter bus at 8:00am on Tuesday, July 6th. Check-in at SWC begins at 10:00am and classes begin at noon. We will eat lunch at a restaurant in Charleston after we check in to the clinics, so students will need to bring money for lunch on Tuesday. Students should bring their instruments, plenty of extra reeds and valve oil, suntan lotion, a hat and sunglasses, a good pair of tennis shoes, snacks, and money for any souvenirs. All students who are attending summer school classes will have the option to leave on Tuesday at 8:00am with the rest of the group which will require them to miss 4 of the 4 days that the school district allows for students to remain in the summer school program. If a student misses 5 days of summer school for any reason, the student will be dropped from the summer school program. Students that would prefer to only miss 3 days of summer school should leave GCHS at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 6th, and will need to provide their own transportation to the clinic. I will register them when we get to camp at 10:00am. Upon arrival at Smith Walbridge Clinics, these students will immediately go to their classes. Please call or email to let me know if you will be going to SWC after summer school at noon on Tuesday.
There will be a parent show on Friday in which the students will show off all of the new marching techniques that they have learned for the week. It will be held in the EIU Panthers Football Stadium at 10:00 am. All parents are encouraged to bring friends and family to watch the show. We will check out of the clinics at noon on Friday, July 9th. Again, parents will need to provide transportation for the students to get home from the camp.
